This sweet, fruity, minty, and subtly spicy drink is a taste of summer and fall in one cup. It's refreshing and cool yet cinnamon notes give it warmth and reminds us of the upcoming season. It's the perfect transition drink to take us into fall. Serve it on hot summer days to cool off or serve it warm and add generous amounts of cinnamon for a warming fall drink. If you want to add even more of a kick to it, add a few drops of ginger. Recipe down below.
Total Time: 12 minutes
**You will need a 32oz pitcher for this
1-2 peaches (1 crushed , and 1 sliced into wedges as garnish)
10 mint leaves - crushed
3-4 tbsp sugar
2-3 sprinkles of cinnamon powder (can sub for cinnamon sticks)
1/2 tsp lemon juice approx
2-3 bags of black tea
32 oz. hot water
OPTIONAL: Few extra mint leaves as garnish
OPTIONAL: few drops of fresh ginger juice for a more spicy, fall taste
*Adjust all portions to taste
Steep the tea bags in hot water
Add sugar and mix until fully dissolved
Add crushed mint leaves and 1 crushed peach. I used a mortar and pestal for both. Include the juices of the mint and peaches. Give it a mix.
Add lemon juice
Sprinkle in the cinnamon. Mix
Taste it and adjust all portions to taste.
Throw in a few slices of crushed peaches and whole mint leaves as garnish into the pitcher and or into individual serving glasses, or both. Add a cinnamon stick for additional garnish if you'd like. Enjoy!
